HISTORICAL BACKGROUND<\/h2>

Life is full of obstacles and challenges. And Muslims are not exempted from trials and tribulations as promised by their Creator. The search for solutions to address such challenges, knowing fully well that Allah Alone brings succour, heralded what is known today as An-Nur Islamic Organization. About three decades ago, four individuals: Alhaji Tajudeen Akanni, Alhaji Muraina Adekoyejo, Alhaji Musibau Akanni and Alhaji Tiamiyu Hammed came together to launch \u2018Afadua Jagun Group\u2019 in order to quench their thirst to have a platform where they could periodically gather and call upon Allah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along the way, when other prominent individuals joined the fold, the name was changed to An-Nur Prayer Group and later An-Nur Islamic Organization. Not only was the name but the modes of operandi. Activities were broadened, new ideas were incorporated and reformations took place.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n Mission <\/h3>\n \t\t \t

The Mission of An-Nur Islamic Organization is to:
\n1. Propagate and promote the teachings, practices, values and tenets of Islam.
\n2. Support charitable causes, humanitarian and empowerment efforts.
\n3. Foster unity and cooperation among Ummah.
\n4. Provide educational and social services to the community.
\n5. Engage in da'wah (outreach) activities in rural areas.
\n6. Encourage moral and spiritual development among members.
\n8. Collaborate with Ede Muslim Council for the benefit of the Muslim community.
\n\nAn-Nur aims to achieve these goals through various activities, including:
\n- Islamic education and training programs
\n- Community development projects
\n- Outreach and evangelism efforts
\n- Social welfare initiatives
\n- Youth, widows and vulnerable empowerment programs
\n- Construction of mosque and An-Nur centre

The vision of An-Nur Islamic Organization is
\nTo be a national fold, spreading the message of Allah
\nTo be an Organization where people can find solace, comfort and tranquility
\nTo be a renowned propeller of pious, virtuous and prosperous society guided by the principles of Islam
\nTo enhance a community of learned scholars and leaders
\nTo be a leading Islamic organization that promotes genuine Islamic values, education, and social welfare
\n\nThe vision of An-Nur Islamic Organization is centered around three core areas:
\n1. Spiritual Development: To promote Islamic knowledge, values, and practices among its members and the wider community at large.
\n2. Education: To assist indigent students to achieve their academic pursuits, providing access to both quality Islamic and western education with a view to promoting academic excellence and producing knowledgeable individuals who can make positive contributions to Nigerian society and the global Muslim community.
\n3. Social Welfare: To engage in charitable activities, community development projects, skills acquisition programmes and other general humanitarian services such as donations to prisons, hospitals as well as motherless babies homes, thereby improving the quality of life for the less privileged and raising entrepreneurs.\n<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n <\/a>\n <\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE ORGANIZATION<\/h2>

\n THE AMEER <\/h3>\n \t\t \t

The general administration of the Organization is under the leadership of the Ameer who is equally the Chief Co-ordinator of her activities and Chief Accountant of finances. He is in charge of general control of the Organization, all the affairs, her members, etc. Ameer is assisted by the Deputy Ameer in areas of coordination. The executive cabinet holds office for two years and they can be reappointed if found worthy. The process of their selection is through \u2018Shura Committee\u2019, the body constituted and ratified by the whole house.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n <\/a>\n <\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n THE SECRETARIAT <\/h3>\n \t\t \t

The secretariat plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of An-Nur Islamic Organization by providing administrative, support, coordination, and managerial functions. It is headed by the General Secretary who sees to record-keeping and document management, correspondence and communication, setting priorities and objectives.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n <\/a>\n <\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n THE MISSIONARY <\/h3>\n \t\t \t

The Mission Board is responsible for spreading the message of Islam, spiritual guidance and promotion of Islamic values. Other key functions of the Missionary include dawah (outreach), explaining Islamic teachings and principles, organizing community events and activities, instilling Islamic values and morals, provision of counseling and guidance, conducting Islamic rituals and prayers. The Mission Board is composed of members who are well versed in both Islamic and Arabic knowledge and it is headed by the Chief Missioner.\n<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n <\/a>\n <\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n THE FINANCE TEAM <\/h3>\n \t\t \t

Group of financial experts are appointed periodically to handle all the financial matters of the Organization. These include the Treasurer, Financial Secretary and the Auditor.
